Fall walleye fishing is fun!
Stay at a Park Rapids, MN resort in September and you just might have some of the best walleye fishing of the year. I don't fish a whole lot, but I do like to get out on nice days in the fall and spend some time relaxing with a rod and reel in hand. Last week Bob took me out for a quick trip after supper. He said, "Okay hon. Tonight is all about you. We're going to rig with a big minnow and catch you a big fish." So we did .................... and I did! The first fish I caught was a 12 inch walleye, and the next one was a 27.5 inch beauty, beating my previous personal best of 27 inches.
But that's not all. Right at sunset I also caught a 20 inch large mouth bass, and boy was she stout! Catching the bass was not in the plan, but certainly a fun surprise. I'd say I had a pretty productive 90 minutes in the boat, wouldn't you? I wish this kind of luck happened all the time.
I'll be fishing again very soon ........
Until next time ~~ Jennifer
P.S. - All the fish were released. Fish this size are good egg layers.
