Early in December I made a Facebook post that mentioned that the ice, snow and cold were taking over, so all we could do was embrace it. Honestly, when you live in northern Minnesota, that's the attitude you have to take if you're going to survive the winter. The winters just get WAY too long if you think you're going to hunker down inside and wait it out.
Yesterday we participated in one of the best demonstrations of embracing the winter and loving where we live. Our neighbors across the lake threw a New Year's Eve Day party rightly named "Two Inlets Fire on Ice." The day started at 1:00 pm and the air temperature was 1 degree above zero. The party went into the evening and it was 20 degrees below zero when everyone called it quits. These pictures show some of the enjoyment had by all!
Until next time ~~ Jennifer
The stage is set for a wide variety of activities.
The Two Inlets Resort baggo game made an appearance, along with Bocce Ball.
Once the sun went down, the ice golf course was closed for the season!
You don't have to know how to walk to enjoy the ice.
broom ball ........
and snowmobile sled rides!
If you're going to have a party called "Fire on Ice," then of course you have to HAVE fire on ice!
The temperature is dropping (notice no people).
Schnapps bar (on an actual ice bar) to help keep people warm???
Heat source for the tent on the ice (we're not completely crazy you know!)
We got FREE hats in our favorite color.
Remember, there's no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing!
