The bike trails in Itasca State Park are beautiful in the fall!
As a resort owner who lives in Park Rapids, MN year around, I consider myself knowledgeable about each and every month of the year. And let me tell you, I think September is Minnesota's best kept secret. It's super quiet, a variety of birds are moving through, Itasca State Park is not as congested as in the summer, bugs are gone, fish are biting, leaves are turning, pine cones are plopping, etc, etc. If you stay at a resort for a full week, you are bound to get a mix of weather that may force you to change up your activities.
Thanks to the Park Rapids Chamber of Commerce blog, here are a few activities still ahead in September that may interest you.
The Headwaters 100 bike ride will depart from Century School for 100-mile, 75-mile and 45-mile rides Saturday, September 26. The event provides an opportunity for a beautiful ride in a well-organized event, sponsored by the Itascatur Ski, Bike and Run Club.
On Saturday and Sunday, September 26 & 27, the Park Rapids Lakes Area Arts Council will sponsor Art Leap 2015, a driving tour of artists’ studios and other cultural destinations. Traditionally, visitors enjoy viewing the fall colors at their peak as they travel from studio to studio. The Arts Council will celebrate its 10th anniversary and the 10th annual Art Leap and Noon Hour Concert series Saturday evening at Armory Square.
