At Two Inlets Resort we appreciate the peace and quiet that comes along with being located just off the beaten path. Of all Park Rapids Resorts, the experience of tranquil days and nights overlooking Two Inlets Lake is beyond comparison.
In our Early Summer Activities Guide, we highlighted several activities for our guests to get outdoors and enjoy exploring all that the woods and lake country has to offer. While northern Minnesota summer is basically paradise under the sun, we are subject to the occasional rainy day. This can serve as an opportunity to slow down and catch your breath after all the sunny day activities. Settle in with a good book in your cabin or the screen porch of the newly-renovated lodge. The kids can enjoy billiards and games or get connected with free wi-fi inside the lodge too.
If you’re more of a “seize the day” kind of person, hop in the car and head to Park Rapids -- an old fashioned small town with plenty to do -- and it’s only a 15-minute drive!
For a small town, Downtown Park Rapids is loaded with activities on any given day, as you’ll note from viewing Park Rapids’ Main Avenue webcam. Park your car in the middle of the street and start by having lunch at one of several restaurants conveniently compiled by TripAdvisor. Whether you’re craving comfort food, pizza or ethnic fare, there’s definitely something to satisfy your appetite. Sweet tooth? Park Rapids has an old fashioned soda fountain and ice cream parlor just a few doors down from a confectionery that will take you right back to the good ol’ days!
After you digest, make sure to leave plenty of time for shopping along Main Avenue’s boutiques, gift shops, specialty stores and more! You’ll soon see why Explore Minnesota included Park Rapids in their post on 10 Charming Minnesota Main Streets. Once you’ve picked up souvenirs for everyone back home, there are options for chilling out on a Minnesota summer night in Park Rapids.
The Northern Light Opera Company is proudly presenting Annie Get Your Gun, Irving Berlin’s fictionalized story of Annie Oakley, a sharpshooter who starred in Buffalo Bill’s Wild West. If musical theater isn’t your thing, check out 2nd Street Stage, a free Thursday evening event with live bands, a beer garden and family activities.
Mix up your summer resort vacation by taking an excursion to Park Rapids for a day of dining, shopping and fun! You’ll leave with a smile on your face and small town warmth in your heart.
