"What do you do in the winter?" is a commonly asked question by our guests in the summer. We all know that Minnesota resorts are in full swing May through September, but what about the rest of the year?
A top priority is, not surprisingly, maintenance. Currently, cabin #5 1/2 is getting a new roof. And no, it's not typical work during the month of January in Minnesota, but it can be done! It's all in your attitude. Tethering to the roof is always a good idea because it can get slippery. Another good idea is to just hire someone else to do it! Bob and my dad, Cal Moe, re-roofed 12 buildings about 10 years ago following a bad hail storm. That's probably enough roofing for one lifetime!
Cabin #5 1/2's roof was only 14 years old, but it was time for a new one. The metal should last longer than the shingles did.
Until next time,
The snow was only a small inconvenience.
Making some progress.
Tethered to the roof for safety.
