Resort Updates in 2021 + Stay in the Fall

08/17/2021 //  by twoinlets

To read in its original formatted version, click here.

We are starting to feel the shift from warm weather, long beautiful nights, and sparkly waters, to school preparations, a change in the air, and the transition away from the heart of summer stays! We wanted to connect and share a bit about what’s happening at Two Inlets Resort in anticipation of the start of fall and the end of our summer season.

The loons are as handsome as ever, although no babies this year, the fish are biting, and the sunsets are clear again. Take in a few of our pictures from this season so far.

If it wasn’t in the cards to vacation at Two Inlets Resort this year, here’s a quick update on what’s been happening.  If you have, we hope you had a lovely time and can’t wait to see you again!

James’ Summer Update

By James Daigle

It’s hard to accept that summer is winding down and the evenings are already starting to cool down. We’ve had a great season so far!

The fishing has been good, the beach has been busier than ever with the new water trampoline and paddle boards, and I suspect that being dry and hot has also helped with the fun at the beach.

Fishing Report:
The walleye fishing as of late has slowed down, but crappie, northern pike, and bass fishing has been great. I have a feeling that walleye fishing this fall will be outstanding!

The DNR surveyed the lake this year for fish numbers and I’m curious to see the results once published. Preliminary findings of number of fish species (talking to the guys at the public landing) seemed great for Two Inlets lake.

Service Board:
This year we put up a service board in the lodge with the badges of service men and women, as a thank you to all who have served. It has been wonderful to walk through history with those that share. If you served in the military and want your patch on the board, please mail it to us or bring them during your next stay.

Thanks to those who’ve already stayed with us and will be staying yet this fall!

James Daigle

Resort Updates | What’s new!

By Kayla Daigle

This is my favorite section to share as we’ve thoughtfully observed and planned out little and big updates for our guests this year. We were so excited to introduce to our longtime and new guests our projects from this season in hopes of enhancing your already special experience at Two Inlets Resort, only adding to its magic!

Air Conditioning
Many of our updates this year were centered on improving our guests’ stays, especially for those who would otherwise have a little harder time making the decision to stay at Two Inlets. In these cases, we heard loud and clear that some of our guests were worried about humidity and having a hard time breathing without air conditioning, so we went straight for it. We started with adding it to our largest cabin, Cabin 5½ this spring, and then decided to just keep on going. After those few hot days, we’re so glad we did!
Bedding
We also knew that after 2020, where we asked our guests to bring their own pillows and blankets, we wanted to do something different this year. As we felt industry, guest, and our standards shifting we knew we needed to problem solve blanket turnovers and didn’t want to ask our guests to bring their own again. So after many many hours debating, calculating sizes and amounts, input from my bedroom team leads, laundry guru, designer brother, and other resort owners, we knew this was the opportunity to update to beautiful white duvet covers over warm, not heavy, soft loft blankets, with all new pillows. The decisions were as drawn out as that last sentence! So far we are loving the white contrast to the wood inside the cabins and how fresh the cabins are!

Here are the latest updates we’ve enjoyed so far this season:

  • Community Fire Pit landscaping & added Adirondack chairs (Individual SoloStove fire pits available for rent too)
  • New bedding & pillows in all cabins
  • A/C Units added to all of our cabins! 🥳
  • Dock steps & railing to beach area
  • Updated lighting in Cabins 0, 3, 4, 4½, 5, 6, & 7
  • New recliners in Cabins 0, 4, 4½, 5½, 7, and 10
  • Landscaping galore (although some flowers are definitely taking a hit with the drought, the main gardens are looking gorgeous)
  • Wi-Fi added to all hillside cabins Cabin 8 & Cabin 10 (& already in Tree Top)
  • Vacuums to all cabins
  • Recreation:
    • Paddle North Paddleboards
    • New AquaGlide Water Trampoline + Slide + 50/50 Log Roll
    • Added bikes include various kid sizes, tandem bike, & adult/youth tricycle cruiser
    • Kids group-size airplane teeter-totter
    • Latest addition to the boat fleet is our 20′ Misty Harbor Pontoon, our second pontoon

We’ve definitely gotten the most feedback about people loving the fresh bedding, the addition of the vacuums, A/C to the cabins, and addition of more landscaping. We love hearing ideas and feedback from our guests!

The older kids at the resort seem to be loving the new water trampoline and additional bike options (especially the 3-wheeler!), and the younger kids are loving the airplane teeter-totter to hang out on together.

We’ve all enjoyed fires and the latest addition of glow sticks and night games around the updated fire pit area too (thanks our early June guests for starting that new tradition!). We’re hoping for rain soon, so we can start making fires again during those cool crisp nights!

We love your feedback and look forward to listening and dreaming about additional touches for the future. Thank you to those that have thoughtfully reached out to us with questions about updates, ideas, and their thoughts. We know there are so many guests that truly care about Two Inlets Resort, see it as their second home, and want to continue to see it flourish for you and your families! We are honored to be a host to such a beautiful and magical space.

“Thank you so much for your hospitality and the wonderful time we had this past weekend. Your resort is so beautiful and clean … a great place to relax and enjoy the quiet (even with three boys!).

Kris, Mora, MN

You provide tremendous value on so many levels, and the condition of the resort is excellent. We had a great time as a family. Saw a lot of cool things, a lot of cool animals, met some great people, and had a very relaxing time. The views are incredible.”

Jim

“We wanted to thank you for the wonderful vacation we had in June. It was so peaceful and enjoyable. We just really appreciated your hospitality, the barbecue social and the great cabin. Thanks again for all you do!”

John, Liz and Max, St. Cloud, MN

“I just wanted to report that our clan has all arrived home safely after a wonderful week at Two Inlets. We all agree that we had a wonderful time in a beautiful place to spend a vacation. To be able to go to sleep at night listening to the loons and the great horned owl made the visit even more special.”

Karen and Bob, Council Bluffs

“Thank you for maintaining such a clean and beautiful resort. We enjoyed our stay. The hummingbirds are so precious to see and the lake view gorgeous. Thanks again for your hospitality and hard work.”

The Petersons, South Dakota

“Just wanted to thank you for the wonderful vacation. We loved the cabin – Tommy is still asking when we will go back to the cabin. Everything was so neat and clean – cabin, grounds, lodge. The setting was perfect – a place where all of us including Tommy could have fun and yet it was still peaceful and restful. It was very hard to leave. We are looking forward to next summer.”
